Load cell calibration questions, answered
How often should a load cell be calibrated?
Every 12 months is the common baseline, and immediately after any overload event, drop, or repair — load cells can be damaged internally while looking perfectly fine outside. Testing standards or project specifications may set stricter intervals.
Is the calibration NATA-endorsed?
Yes. Load cell and force measuring system calibrations are performed under our NATA accreditation in accordance with AS 2193, with classification stated on the report where applicable.
Can you calibrate load cells on-site?
In many cases, yes — particularly cells installed in testing machines and weighing assemblies. Standalone cells can also be calibrated in our Geebung laboratory. Tell us the capacity and application and we'll confirm the best approach.
